There are two types of dentures we can offer our patients—partial dentures for the patient who has lost a few or several teeth and complete dentures if a patient has lost all the upper or lower teeth. Our insistence on quality care for every patient means that we will ensure the dentures we provide are both well-manufactured and comfortable.
We start this process as soon as a patient’s mouth has healed from any extractions or oral surgery. When the gums and bone have healed fully, we will take accurate impressions of the upper and lower parts of your mouth, along with other measurements. We send all this information to the lab so that your new teeth are comfortable and result in the proper alignment of your jaws when you bite or chew.
At the same time, we will work with you to design your new teeth. If you’re going to receive complete dentures, we can decide together on the color, size and shape of your new teeth. If you’re receiving a partial denture, we will specify replacement teeth that complement your natural teeth.
When the lab returns your new dentures, we’ll bring you in to try them out. This step is vital to your future comfort. We will fit the denture into your mouth and adjust it as needed until it is a secure, comfortable fit. You may need to wear them for a little while and have them adjusted again to get a perfect fit.
We know the kinds of problems that can occur when dentures aren’t comfortable or don’t fit snugly. We’re dedicated to your comfort and your enjoyment of your new teeth.
